Personal pinks for purpose

Holla!

Pink is a very diverse colour whether you're a girly girl or not when it comes round to May every girl is a proud owner of something pink, whether it's in their wardrobe or their make up bag. Why May you ask, May/June is the months of cancer research's race for life. As my great auntie recently past away due to cancer I'll be running the pretty muddy 5k race for life this year, It's going to be a tough one but since it's for a great cause and I'm thrilled I'll be helping. As Tesco store's are in partnership with race for life, my work asked us to wear pink last week so of course make up was incorporated too and to be honest I didn't mind a pink lip! I was able to get away with the brighter look as it's spring and I absolutely cannot believe that we're nearing the end of this season already and the beautiful blooms! Crazy!! Anyway here's to the hope in research and battling such dreadful diseases such as cancer. If any of you have the opportunity to raise money and participate in an event for a great cause then by all means do! Every little helps!!

Blueberries for breakfast!

Monday, 11 April 2016

Holla!

It's been a while since I've posted last so I thought I'd start with something positive and fun.. BREAKFAST! Now everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. As a child and early into my teens I never ate breakfast, I've only just started eating breakfast and I can see the difference, it really does set your day and put you in a good mood, not to mention the fun and adventurous combinations you can make in the morning! I've realised how fun and easy breakfast really can be. I've come up with 3 easy and healthy breakfasts for the mornings which are also very quick to prep and consume before those busy exasperating days ahead of you.. One of my all time favourite fruits are blueberries hence their appearance in all these recipes!

1. Porridge

Layer with fruit and your favourite flavours (chia seeds/cinnamon and almond flakes are mine for sure!) It's good to include nuts as they're great source of protein!

2. Museli or Just yoghurt

Create a bed of muesli so you can add your favourite yoghurt (mine being Alpro's Soya Vanilla which is the best yoghurt I've ever had, and I don't really like yoghurt so if you're not much of a fan yourself, give this one a try!) Chopped fruit and your toppings. (If you've used flavoured yoghurt you won't need cinnamon as it's already packed with flavours) Likewise you can just add your flavours and fruit to your yoghurt for a light and quick/easy breakfast, still taste a treat!

3. Overnight oats

These can be done so differently, I've seen people use milk, greek yoghurt and fruit or just milk and oats. For mine I use more oats and milk rather than bulking with greek yoghurt, it tastes just as good and if you think you need a bit more than add some yoghurt in the morning, I find if you add yoghurt this is too much considering the fruit inside too. I've used blueberries, almond milk, cinnamon, chia seeds, sweetener and porridge oats, topped with more blueberries and almond flakes. Pop in the fridge and they're all ready for the morning, perfect if you know you won't have time to make any breakfast!

I hope these have been helpful for your morning arise and have fun recreating some great breakfasts and fuel for the day!

Love Always,
