Off on another journey! - Northampton Spirit of Rugby touch tournament and Singha's 7's.

Holla!

A few days ago I got a wonderful opportunity to go and play on the Northampton Saint's training ground for a touch tournament. Being a rugby player I thrive on the game and do love contact however touch is still a good way to keep the game rolling through the summer.. and is a lot of fun.. especially for the backs and steppers! As a team we played our best and kept the spirit of rugby alive, which is what it's all about!! Even with an injured leg.. play every game like it's your last.. my coach would tell you, and it's very true!

After our tournament we were able to watch the Singha's 7's with the Northampton's saints, Harlequins, Gloucester and Saracens. Watching this tournament influenced me greatly with rugby and how it's played to a good degree. I was so thrilled and shocked with the level of their game, the speed and power, the commitment every single player put into the tournament, I really became inspired and it made me want to power through and become a better rugby player!! I felt very motivated and empowered after watching the games, so bring on the next season.. whether I'm playing for Thetford, Bury St Edmunds or even down Portsmouth University, it's bound to bring some good and memorable games which I'm looking forward to! And of course watching more rugby also!

It will be delightful to see both our mens and women's teams in Rio for the olympics '16! Very excited, and cannot believe its already been 4 years since London!

Hope you enjoyed! Stay spontaneous and do what you enjoy!

Another fitness post! - improvised circuits and cutting carbs

 Holla!

What better way to spend your free time in summer than working out??!! Feeling sluggish and a little bloated? Get your trainers on and break a sweat.. you're bound to feel more energised! This morning before work I was down the gym, (8am on a Sunday!! Get motivated!) And it's right, I felt amazing for the rest of the day!

Working out is very important however so is a healthy diet, stick to fruits full of energy such as Bananas with their high potassium levels and a bowl of porridge oats with chia seeds for slow burning energy to keep you going for longer.. this way you're less likely to pick through the day and you will stick to your meals! A lot of people do have a problem with snacking during the day so one way I feel reduced this is by creating a food diary, so you only eat what you've written down.. this really worked for me! Allow yourself some snacks but make them healthy, such as a handful of almonds, or a yoghurt, or even an apple. After all if you can't eat an apple then you're not hungry you're just bored!

On the topic of your diet.. I have cut out carbs including bread, potato and pasta. This has been rather tricky however swap pasta for couscous and quinoa, potato for a lighter sweet potato and bread for rye.. a lot healthier and much lighter, as I used to find carbs would bloat me yet switching the regular carbs for lower carb intake I feel a lot better for it.. dedication and commitment is all it takes!

My top 5 foods :

  • Super seeds porridge oats
  • Almonds
  • Avocado
  • Pineapple
  • Alpro soya yoghurt

Make a list of your top foods and try and incorporate them into your weekly meals.. you'll be more excited about your meal times and less likely to snack on naughty foods that you know you don't really want!

Also another tip is, don't scare yourself over numbers, it's what you see and how you feel not what you weigh! Muscle and a toned body is much more attractive than ribs and bones! Eat properly, work out properly.. love yourself! And track it.. don't be afraid to show off and boast your progress! Believe and you will achieve.

Pre season started last week and the fitness killed us all!! Really showed us how we need to improve our game for the upcoming season... All's well end's well! No pain no gain as they say. Bring on the scrums..

Making up circuits is one of my favourite things to do in the gym.. especially if you've got the time to do 4/5 sets. If I don't have time to work on everything then I will just target my legs or back using the bar to squat and leg raise. In my circuits I've been loving box jump burpees too.. as hard as they may be.. definitely worth it!

Stay focused on both your everyday attitude, your physical well being and your diet, you will feel great!

Hope you enjoyed this little fitness post and it's motivated some of you! Stop saying one day when that one day could be today!

Love always,

Epoch Glacial marine mud mask review

Saturday, 30 July 2016

Holla!

Here's another beauty review. As everyone loves a good face mask pamper session.. Wearing good make up is important but having good skin care and a good routine is even better! (separate skin care routine post to come soon!) After a long week or a tough day on the pitch or working or even a good workout your pores are tired and your skin needs some TLC no doubt! So here we are, this product is very good for moisturising the skin as most face masks I have previously tried have dried out my skin however this is very soothing and hydrating! Also this product comes in a large tube and you only need a small amount squeezed onto your fingertips to cover your face.. leave on for 10-15 minutes until dry and wash off with warm water massaging your face as you go! I've used this product 5 times already and you'd think I've just bought it with how much is left!! For 26 pounds this product is definitely worth it!! I personally found this product extremely good for blackheads and pores so if you find these an issue.. you know what to give a go!! You can physically see the dirt being drawn out from your skin.. it's brilliant! Top off with a cleanser, toner and moisturiser routine and your skin will feel amazing! Remember you're only as good as you feel!

Look after yourself and you will appreciate it in years to come!

Love always

South of france adventure

Holla!

So last week I ventured off to the South of France, Argeles Sur Mer for an action packed water sports trip! It was beautiful, the scenery, the weather, the activities! Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures as it was so busy and was just lovely to have a break.. who needs technology and cameras when you get to live in and enjoy the experience for yourself!

Here's a few things we got up to ..

  • Wind Surfing
  • Sailing
  • Paddle boarding
  • White water rafting
  • Kayaking
  • Water park (in Spain!)
  • Running

Even though it seems crazy I was up at 6am running 5 miles every morning.. it felt great and left me feeling energised for the rest of the day! Not to mention the idyllic scenery and opportunity to watch the sun rise every morning!

The sea was ever so clear but yet again very salty so when you fall off that surf board, taking a mouth full of salt water was rather distasteful!!

White water rafting was by far the most fun thing I have ever done and was definitely the highlight of our holiday!! We were all left with such an adrenaline high and full or excitement! However I wasn't a fan of capsizing!

Was a brilliant holiday and a great way to end A levels!! Roll on uni!

I hope you all have a good summer whatever you're up to and make lots of fond memories!! Don't hold back and just have fun! :)

Love always,
