Last week it was a pleasure to be able to go down to the embankment in London again to visit the Globe and watch The Taming of the Shrew, the Shakespeare comedy play we have been studying for A2. This presented a much darker portrayal than was expected. It was very good and interesting, the story was easily followed and the actors played each character very well even though dear Katherina saved the show and filled in for someone else, she did a marvellous job for someone still learning the story. The essence and underlying preconceptions of the story were captured very thoroughly.
It was a lovely day when we took our trip to London. Enjoying a nice light pizza express whilst we waited and of course a Starbucks at our own expense. Where coffee is, I am! I must recommend the s'mores brownie for I did fully indulge during the interval!!
(clipper boat from Greenwich to Embankment)
(LOTD - Travel the world, Tanya Burr)
(lunch with a view!)
(Watermelon chill - to die for!!! soo tasty)
(S'more's frappe)
If you haven't already, I would definitely recommend taking a trip to the Embankment whether it's just for a walk along the Thames or if you do enjoy Shakespeare and fancy a startling performance at the Globe! It's London and there's always plenty to be visiting in the beautiful city.. not to mention the endless cocktail bars!!.. Definitely heading back here for a weekend!
Love always,
